My name is Christopher Green, I am an artist, wrestler, and judoka. I love to illustrate, design, and create new things. I am currently enrolled in Freestyle Academy as a Design student, and I hope to learn more about how to create concepts and ideas that can communicate my thoughts effectively.
A core value of mine is self discipline, as this drives me to become better than I was a day before. Whether it be sports like wrestling where I am working out to the best of my abilities and putting everything I have into every practice or match. Or in art where I am constantly trying to level up my artistic abilities in all areas and especially the areas that I either aren’t good at or don’t like.
Outside of school, I draw, wrestle and do judo everyday and work on all my personal crafts. While these things don’t seem to be remotely related, they create balance for me and they are simply what I love to do. My athletic activities allow me to explore my mental and physical traits and restrictions. They train my mind to push past seemingly difficult tasks, and create a new level of self confidence. They also develop my body to be healthy and active which is important for everyday function in my opinion. Art and drawing help build my focus and create this feeling of calmness. The system of sitting down and crafting something from basically nothing is almost a magic trick to me.
At Freestyle Academy, I expect myself to learn all kinds of new practical ways of art. How to film, design, draw, photograph, and most importantly, communicate. I hope to grow my technical ability to the point where I can create almost any kind of media there is. I would like to develop my artistic skills to be able to draw or put together art pieces that are high quality, professional, and that I can enjoy making.
I truly value my experiences of being a Freestyle student as I feel I can create not only art that I have always wanted the ability to make, but also connect with like minded people who also have similar ideas and goals in mind. People who actually want to be there, and not just some class they are taking for credit. Finally, get a little peep into how the world of graphic communications looks in the real world, as I hope in the future I will pursue these fields.
