Self-Portrait

Self-Portrait
Photo of a self-portrait without showing one's face. The photo demonstrates a cluttered desk.
“If a cluttered desk is the sign of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign of?”
-Albert Einstein

While pondering over ways to complete the weekly photo challenge and create a self-portrait without showing my face, I found myself sitting on my desk chair looking around of inspiration. I’m a strong believer that a person is the sum of their parts, meaning it isn’t their external looks that define them, but rather what goes on inside their head: their thoughts, ideas, knowledge, and connections. My desk is a place for me to think. Whether that be through reading a book, studying for an exam, writing poetry, doing my homework, or simply talking to a friend, my desk is a place where I express my ideas, the ideas that define me. For this reason, I think my desk and workspace is most fitting for my self portrait.
