For the Music Recording project, I worked with Lillian H in Freestyle’s recording studio to record a musician and then edit their performance in ProTools.
Musician: Max Kelly
Max Kelly is currently a Senior at Mountain View High. He is very passionate about music, dance and theater, and is involved in related activities at school. Max loves to perform and to compose, and he plays piano. He is also the bass section leader in choir. Max hopes to continue his musical journey in college!

To edit Max’s performance, we put together Max’s vocal track with his backing track. We also combined different vocal tracks to fix some mistakes. We also added reverb and some sound effects created by Max.

Reflection…
Through this project, I was able to learn a lot about recording with ProTools in a studio. I had a great time using the different gadgets in there and adjusting the ProTools session as we went along. I also had a lot of fun hearing Max perform his songs, and he brought a great energy to the recording studio. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to ProTools, but I think this project helped me gain some more confidence with it.
