Explorations

Explorations

For the explorations project, I had to answer the question “How can you find, explore and expand your passion?”

For my own project, I decided to learn about the process behind pitching a TV show. I have always been curious about how a TV show gets to its final product so I decided to use my explorations project as an opportunity to learn about it. I created a series bible for an original series idea.

I started out this project by researching what goes into pitching a show. After hours of researching the process, I was ready to start developing my series bible. I came up with an idea for a series called A Thousand Miles. I came up with the plot, characters, settings, episodes and future seasons of this hypothetical show.

In order to sum up what I learned from this project, I had to make an infographic about the process of pitching a TV show.

My Infographic

From this project, I learned how to really develop a creative idea. I got the chance to create my own idea and bring it to life on my own. I valued being able to have creative independence of my idea and being able to work hard to make that idea feel alive. The skills I learned from my explorations project will help me in future Freestyle projects when I have to develop other ideas on my own to help bring them to life through film.

Under normal circumstances, we would present our explorations project in front of all our peers in person. But since we are doing distance learning, we had to instead present our projects through prerecorded video presentations. You can watch my presentation below
