Narrative 2 in English

Narrative 2 in English

In English, I got to write a lyrical essay. Lyrical essays are a hybrid type of essay that combines poetry, traditional essays, autobiography and much more into one cohesive work of creative nonfiction.

Writing this lyrical essay was really refreshing because it was a new type of writing that I had never gotten to explore. It was a nice break from the essays that are written in a traditional English course, and the nature of lyrical essays left a lot of room to play around with different topics. I ended up writing my essay about eggs, and I got to mix in facts about eggs and my personal opinions about them to make up my lyrical essay.

Lyrical Essay Production

As a follow up to our written essays in English, in Digital Media, we were tasked to make a visual production relating to our essays. Just like the original essay, the nature of the assignment left a lot of room for creativity and we could basically make any form of production we wanted, just as long as it related to the essay in some way. So for my production, I chose to draw a picture relating to my essay.

My Lyrical Essay Production

I used Photoshop to create a digital drawing to reflect the content of my lyrical essay. In my essay, I concluded with the point that humans are like eggs, so I decided to draw the Earth as an egg shape to help emphasize that point and represent my essay.
