The purpose of these photos is to show the how an image changes depending on how the flash is positioned. Pointed directly at the subject, it is evenly lit up, but loses shadows and makes the subject look flat. When pointed at the ceiling, more shadows appear and you can see more depth in the subject. The bounce card and diffuser changes how the light bounces off. With the card, the light both bounces off the ceiling onto the subject, and bounces off the card directly at the subject. The light bouncing off the card isn’t nearly as strong, so it simply brightens up the subject. The diffuser breaks up the light and sends it out a bit more randomly, spreading out the light bouncing off the ceiling.
