The explorations project was my favorite project this year. This project had (basically) endless possibilities and I had so much fun with it. I was given a prompt of taking something that I want to improve upon (or learn). This was the perfect opportunity for me to pick up something that I had been wanting to do for a long time: Procreate. Procreate is an app similar to Illustrator that can be downloaded onto an iPad and has so much creative freedom. Here is the process that I had for this project:

Planning & My Ideas

For my digital drawing/painting, I wanted to explore colors and moods. I decided to do this through creating drawings that expressed both the color & mood simultaneously. I first did some sketches and picked my color palette that I wanted to work with. I chose to use the colors blue, red, and yellow (blue for sadness, red for anger, and yellow for joy).

My inspirations:

For my inspiration, I first looked at some photos that expressed emotions through the use of color. I also looked at some stylistic inspiration & discovered Japanese style art which I wanted to implement into my own art.

A painting I created to help me plan how to use the colors & how I could blend them together.

My Process:

Here are some photos of my progress in creating my Procreate drawing.
