For this week’s photo challenge, students were assigned to demonstrate the use of color theory in a photo. This picture was taken in San Francisco, during the sunset hour. I chose this picture, because I thought that the orange red sunset colors reflecting on the buildings were emphasized by the overall blue-green sky and plants and the scenery reflecting on the water surface. As darker shades of blue complements oranges and the secondary color of orange’s complementary color is the primary blue, the orange pigment in the picture stands out more in the picture.
