Reflections
Being they are senior high school year, students are expected to acknowledge who they are through making various unique projects at freestyle academy. Knowing who I really am was a hard process to realize what kind of personality I am, but building the brainstorm and exercising my personal core value with my classmates allowed me to know myself more than before. In Digital Media, we made a mandala to show who you are. Each mandala is unique and creative. We used an Adobe Illustrator to create Mandela for 2 months. We also created a core value video by using an After Effect video. In my design class, we did the PSA project and created the poster to raise an awareness of your interest in political issues. It is not more personal and personally related, but you can tell what I am currently interested in from many world issues. In terms of core value, we wrote the personal essay in English class. In order to expand our core value, we brainstormed our challenges, experiences and struggles.
Personal Essay
Our first assignment in English class was a personal essay. Along with read the “college essay essential”, we learned the basic structure of essay body to build knowledge and write about your most significant challenge in your life. In the progress of my writing journey, I aim to point on purpose of my life and what I discover as I through barriers.

Personal Mandala
In Digital Media, we were asked to create a mandala to show who you are. The Mandala appears as a circle containing repeating shapes within it that go around the center. In class, we used Adobe illustrations to create a mandala. By using multiple tools, we were able to draw creative things without repeating. Afterward, when we finished, we made a color version of it. In BW mandala, Mr Flo printed out on each mandala with optional materials from LED to wood. Lots of options were given to us. I chose wood materials, because I thought wood would help to show the mandala’s features more clearly. It turns out to be one of my favorite pieces from my project so far.
Wavelength
B&W Mandala: I was inspired by of nature of this Mandala project. My Mandala represents human emotions with a nature symbol. In the middle of this mandala represents a sun surrounded by petals and leaves that makes it look like a single flower. Other parts of nature show waves like the ocean does. This mandala shows my feelings inside my mind. I represent happiness, anger and excitement through this mandala. The ocean and waves demonstrate the wavelength of feeling. Humans always have different emotions every day, like the oceans. I believe nature has the power to heal our minds that gives us energy to live hard. So my mandala demonstrates the beauty of nature and emotion.
Color Mandala: My Mandala represents the connection between nature and human emotions. I picked the light color for all the objects to look positive energy on my colored Mandala. The mix of dark orange and light orange color of the sun makes it solid. My Mandala represents human emotions with a nature symbol. I believe nature has the power to heal our minds that gives us energy to live hard. So, this demonstrates the beauty of nature and emotion by my strong colored mandala.
Laser engraved Mandala: The ocean and waves demonstrate the wavelength of feeling. Humans always have different emotions every day, like the oceans. I believe nature has the power to heal our minds, which gives us energy to live hard. My mandala demonstrates the beauty of nature and emotion. The wood materials make the mandala design more real and that is also a part of the mandala feature.

Behind the scenes: I used After Affect to edit my Mandala reveal build video. This is the progress of my video editing. We captured each drawing part screenshot and build the layer.
What I value and appreciate about the entire mandala project was the opportunity to explore in creative as a personal way. The Mandala encouraged me to reflect on my core value. I appreciate how this project allows me to express my emotion and thoughts. Additionally, The repetitive patterns work parts offered me clam and meditative experience, helping me to practice patience and attention to details. It was also rewarding to see the result of a wood piece engraved Mandala with on my design.
Design productions
PSA:
Our project in Design was create a poster for public service announcement. I picked fast fashion from current social issues. Phrase “Live everyday with green” encourage audacious to be more aware what you are wearing and not to be a part of routine to consume clothes. This is my final product.
LIVE EVERYDAY WITH GREEN
My PSA is about sustainable fashion. I’m hoping that I can bring awareness to the idea of how fast fashion can turn into eco fashion that sustains the current environmentally. I picked cool colors overall to show the poster looks light and it represents our planets. There are three leaf circles around a manekin representing the recycle mark. A manikin stands for the symbol of the fashion industry and it suggests that we should treat clothes nicer than ever in many ways that keeps the planets not being hurt due to the consumer effects. The hands holding earth kindly to protect the whole planet and a manikin standing on the earth meaning that we should reconsider the change of the fashion industry to be more eco-friendly for our environment.
Behind the scene: This is what I depicted on the PSA poster. I struggled to think about how I depict the relationship between fashion and environmental issues. I was going to show the relations in negative ways by using dark color, but I decided to draw in a positive way to point out these issues.
Aboriginal Art:
Aboriginal Art is a traditional unique art to express who you are by using your astrology and sprit animal. We used a brush tool in Adobe illustrator to design own aboriginal art.
My origin
This aboriginal project is based on your astrology sign and spirit animal to represent yourself by using traditional aboriginal dot painting. My spirit animal is a butterfly and it means growing. I depict them on the corner to look like they are flying, have gone further to keep going forward and never look back. Capricorn is my astrology symbol, so I placed the Capricorn as the central focus of my pieces. I also included the Capricorn sign and zodiac sign on each side of the corner in my piece. I focused on my astrology sign to represent myself on this aboriginal project.
Behind the scene: This is my second time using photoshop to create my collection and I made this piece without fully understanding the tools on photoshop. So, It took time to learn basic skills to use photoshop and I wish I could use these incredible tools more wisely. So, I could represent myself well. I used a brush tool to depict all the dots. This project is mostly the drawing part and I personally do not draw often, so it was a challenge for me to draw well as much as I can. And One thing I would do differently is my background. I would sketch my background more creatively. I would use multiple colors to make it colorful and make it like a marble pattern on my background.
Summer Collage
Summer Collage is my first design collection in Freestyle Academy. We practiced to use tools in Photoshop by creating the collage. I really liked my collection because it has memory about my first day of design class on this production.
I appreciate my teacher that gave us these amazing projects to work on. I self learned many things during the process and knowing who I am through our the projects. What I valued is that the time that I could refresh my mind and memory to recognize my self identity. Senior year, I have lots of my mind going on and almost lost and miserable. However, these projects brought me back the beginning where I start and this helps me a lot to clean myself.
