For this week, we have to talk about what we’re excited for the future. I chose to take a picture of my diploma and a photo booth picture of me and my boyfriend. I’m so excited to be going to college and graduating while remembering the people I love that got me here.
For a frame within the frame, I chose to use leading lines. Leading lines frame the center of an object without needing an actual frame for it. I went in my backyard and tried to look for frames with natural elements.
For my self portrait, I chose to use a mirror and a painting. I decided to do this because I often mirror other peoples behavior. The painting represents who I am on the inside and the mirror represents how I mirror people. This painting in particular is very important to me and it connects me to other people, which in turn connects me to myself.
This week, we have to be inspired by food. I decided to take a picture of the inside of my fridge and take a picture of my two favorite drinks- lemonade and half&half. I liked the light of inside the fridge as it had a certain atmosphere.
For using props, I decided to make a standoff scene between my candle lighter and my Mario kart Luigi. It was very intense. I also used ashallow depth of field to give it more of an ominous, standoff-ish scene.
For modern convenience, I chose to take a picture of the one thing I can’t live without- my phone. I took it in a way I’ve seen some companies market it while on a phone call.
For current events, I wanted to show how our world may seem like it’s thriving but in real life, it’s slowly dying. I used a picture of succulents I found in my backyard that seemed to be doing fine but were around of of these dead plants and roots. It shows how some parts of the world are affluent and well off whereas some parts are not but we’re all on the same earth.
For depth of field, I chose to put on abject in front of a bunch of other objects and turned the f-stop all the way down to create a shallow depth of field.
For deadly sins, I chose to capture one that I relate to the most- sloth. When I think about being lazy or sleepy, I think about my bed and how easy it is to lay there and not get up which is definitely one of the deadly sins. I also pulled the comforter out so it looks more tempting and inviting.
For this week, I chose to be inspired by a microphone I have had in my room. I always have it set up in the same place in my room whenever I want to record. I have been using this microphone for the past 4 years now and I hope to create more music when I get the chance.
