    center frame portrait

f/3.5, 1/60, 120 This is my gorgeous friend Genie who came over to my house to hangout and she found my camera and we took turns taking photos of each-other. I never really thought they would be useful until I saw the photo blog assignment, but I think she looks so cute.

    new beginnings

f/4.5, 1/2,000, 200 I went to Mill Valley to visit a couple of friends, they told us we would be going to a viewpoint so I decided to bring my camera along. When we arrived I saw a large rock with a flat pile of dirt under it, some of my friends started jumping so I decided to put my camera into sport and photograph this. This is a liberating photo which is a feeling often associated with a new beginning.

    water

f/3.5, 1/2,000, 160 This photo was taken in New Zealand the day after Argentina won the World Cup. I went there to visit my friend who is Argentinian so her whole family was ecstatic. We sailed into a white sand beach and the water was more blue than the sky it was beautiful.

    balance in holiday traditions

f/3.5, 1/125, 160 One of my family’s favorite holiday traditions is going to stay in our cousin’s house in Tahoe and for the first year in a long time we received quite a bit of snow. I was the first to wake up so I grabbed my camera and found a couple of trees with just the right amount of snow on them. This was to document how beautiful this place my family celebrates at is.

    sport stories

f/5.6, 1/2,000, 160 When I was asked to take photos of someone playing soccer for their portfolio I decided it would be best to use my zoom lens because he was so far away on the field. I learned a lot about using my tripod and which angles were best to position my body in order to capture the most clear shots of him.

  • Inspiration

    white balance

f/3.5, 1/125, 120 While I was taking photos of the sunset photo blog I thought I could play around with white balance to give this photo more of a grainy and dark look. This was also so I could see the details of the waves as the light wasn’t reflected as much. I used the Fluorescent setting and it turned out cool.

    leading lines

f/4.2, 1/1,000, 160 This is definitely one of my favorite photos ever, It was taken in a town called Raglan which is in New Zealand. I thought that the lines on the two gates on the house kind of led the viewer to the ocean. The color of the house on the left composed with the color of the water, made way for a really good shot.

    sunsets

f/4, 1/125, 120 When I was staying in Santa Cruz with my family we luckily had a view of the coast and the ocean. The sunset was so beautiful and I completely forgot I brought my camera, So I am thankful I was there to catch the last seconds of light.

  • Inspiration

    weight or mass

f/5.6, 1/1,600, 200 I was at Stanford College and I saw a couple of my friends at the little skate park they have set up at the basketball courts. I had brought my camera to take photos of the large tower for weight and mass but I decided to use sport mode to catch them in action instead. Out of all this was the most clear and the subject jumped the highest which I thought looked the best.

    symmetry landscape

f/7.1, 1/200, 160 I took this photo while in New Zealand and it was some of the most beautiful water/landscape I had ever seen, the vegetation was so lush and you could see the sand at the bottom of the water. Although it all looked very uniform and if you split it in half both sides would look the same. I positioned my camera in the middle to create the straight line of water.
