Man vs. Mechanoid

             The piece seen here, I drew to represent my adventures in comprehending new technology. The robot calculator itself was intentionally drew in a rather cartoon like fashion to represent the romanticized portrayal of a life at ease thanks to technological advances. On the other half, we have me in a more detailed manner fighting the robot with a sword and shield. Because the sword and shield is the ultimate primitive weapon, they make a fitting representation of my sense of being ill equipped. Especially when up against the all-encompassing force of technology, which even has heat vision!!!
             It is obvious, by looking at the picture that, in the end, technology will win in the end. But is that really a sad ending? To emphasize that point, I chose to use a newspaper article about robots helping the elderly in the background, to demonstrate a sense of optimism; that in the end new technology will provide answers even if there will be a struggle to utilize it.
