Research Paper
First thing we did in our English unit for narrative was work on our research papers. A substitute for the classic senior thesis assignment we were instructed to follow and look into any specific ongoing event or political event with some discourse around it. We were tasked with doing research then writing about our issues after taking a stance based off the evidence we gathered. I chose to research space legislation and more specifically the commercialization of space with companies like space X and blue origin making recent waves.
Surreal Composition
For this unit in English we were supposed to expand on our research essay and take the broad themes to create a surreal composition image. The though process behind mine was: Imagine that the world has progressed far beyond earth and into the space age. What do the people who still work the low end jobs of this universe look like are they overlooked by society? How could I represent the nameless and faceless of the world that could easily become a later reality. I cant actually find the photoshop file or the final exported piece but if I could describe it it would be a bunch of peoples faces all spliced together to create one face.
Worldbuilding
We took our surreal compositions to the next level and started working on our worldbuilding project in full force. We had to expand on the world we imagined and had to take it to the next level.
