This film unit has definitely been a rollercoaster. I started off strong, making a few short videos to prepare for our senior narrative—simple, low-stakes projects that I had a lot of fun with and still feel proud of. For the one-minute movie assignment, things got more interesting. We had to storyboard, shoot, and edit a film—but with a twist. After each stage, we passed our work to another group and took over someone else’s project, continuing it from where they left off.

To explore different lighting techniques, we followed a scavenger hunt-style list of shots, each designed to highlight a specific type of lighting. It was a hands-on way to learn how lighting can completely change the feel and look of a scene.
Senior Narrative Film
For our big project this unit we were tasked with creating a narrative film. This was easily the biggest project we have had in film to date and was one that we worked on for months and months. Everything from coming up with a story idea, making sure we are following proper film structure with a story that would play out how we imagined. We truly labored over this project and got to exercise some serious grit and determination to bring this to the finish line. I hope you enjoy.
