In digital media, we kicked off this unit by creating unique and funny compositions in photoshop. Here’s what I created!

The next assignment was motion graphics in after effects. Unfortunately, I never completed that assignment. There are some cool examples on the freestyle youtube page if you’d like to check them out.
The next thing we worked on was a multi-layer art project. We had a choice between making ring art, stacked wood art, or a light box. My partner and I chose to make ring art. We were required to base the design of our 3D art off of our worldbuilding projects.
Initially, we sketched our designs on paper. Then, we moved on to creating the disgn in illustrator. This design was then sent to the lazer cutter which carved out our art.

Below is a timelapse of the assembly as well as a 3D video exploring the various layers.

The inspiration for this project, The Story Of Prometheus, was the literature we had been reading in Mr. Greco's class. We were reading parable of the sower which is a dystopian novel. This inspired the dystopian vibe of our ring art. It was really cool to be able to turn an initial 2D sketch into a 3D product. Creating the 3D video in after effects was especially challenging but the final product turned out really well. It's awesome that we're able to create shadows and lighting in a 3D simulation. It's incredibly valuable to be well versed in adobe illustrator and after effects. Learning skills such as multi-layer art creation, wood carving, and working with the 3D space will enable me to create many more projects and gives me a solid base to learn more skills.
