The definition of Zenith is the time at which something is most powerful or succesful. Thus, our Zenith project is sort of the “best” project of our freestyle carreers. My zenith project is a collection of 3 short films related to cars. I was excited to work with my twin brother on this project as we share an interest in cars and many of our mutual friends do as well. We envisioned 3 videos, 1. An edit/hype video of our friend’s sick bmw 2. A personal story mini documentary of our friend Soma who works on/fixes peoples cars 3. A mini bmw advertisement. I was able to incorporate my previously developed documentary skills into the mini documentary part of this project. I had to learn how to use a lot of new film gear such as drones and steadycams for the hype video and advertisement portions of this project.
Our process started by creating a realistic calendar to keep us on track. We were graded on how well we kept up with our calendar. We then created scripts and shotlists to ensure that we’d be prepared on set. Here is some behind the scenes!
