Narrative Visual Perspective in Film

Our Narrative unit started super early on in the year. We started by pitching our film ideas with loglines. My original idea was about 2 spies, one mentor and one rookie, who together uncover a criminal underworld. Eventually, the story was developed into what it is currently. You can read my finished script here!

After finishing our script and getting it greenlit, we had to learn special techniques for narrative filming. We acted in dialogue scenes and learned how to use boom microphones, slates, and lighting. You can watch my dialogue scene here!

While all of this was happening, we also had to work on lining our scripts, creating shooting schedules, creating shot lists, and stripboards. Here’s what that looked like:

This is the first page of my shotlist.

Eventually, we finished pre-production and it was time to move on to filming. Here’s some behind the scenes of what our film sets looked like! Shoutout to my amazing actors 🙂
