Introduction
For one of our final projects at Freestyle, we were given the freedom to do whatever we want as long as it’s Design related and we have a physical thing to show for Exhibition. I went through a lot of options before finally deciding on doing gel nail art.
Process
First, I started swatching all the polishes I have to get a good sense of the colors I’m working with. Then I made some concept sketches of what I want my nails to look like. Unfortunately, I ended up not following through with my plan and ended up doing something else instead. Afterwards I started the nail prep process of choosing the nails I want to paint on, buffing them to give the gel something to stick too and then brushing off the leftover dust from the buffing.
Afterwards, I started to paint my nails with the designs I had in mind. If I don’t have a color, I would mix it on a piece of aluminum. After each layer I know I like, I would flash cure it for 30 seconds for the gel to hold it in place.
Completed Project Section
Lastly, I put them all together in a small clear case where I use this double sided tape in there so all the nails would stay in the case.
