Photo Blog #1: Self-Portrait

For our first photo I was directed to take a picture that tells the audience who I am, without showing my face. To take this picture I laid my glasses and hat over my first MIDI keyboard. I feel like my first MIDI keyboard represents who I am because my whole life I have expressed myself through making music. It was a gift given to me when I first started producing music and it is of emotional significance to me because it reminds me of how far I’ve come. I focused the camera on the corner of the keyboard because I feel like music grounds me as a person. The blurriness of the hat and glasses represents how I’m still unsure of my true identity, but the keyboard anchors me.
