Photo Blog #31: Friends and Family

For this assignment, we were meant to take a picture that tells the story of someone you know well. My parents’ favorite comic book is Calvin and Hobbes, so I thought I would make it the subject of this photo. In many ways, this book represents their values: they have raised me to be introspective and to keep my inner child alive. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from them, it is to value the present moment, and so I took this photo outside when the sun was peeking over the trees to emphasize this simple beauty we often overlook. In PhotoShop, I added color grading to make the image feel warmer.
