About me

Hello! My name is Leanna Chun, and I was a student at Mountain View High School and Freestyle Academy.

The reason that I signed up for Freestyle during my Sophomore year was because art is my passion and I really wanted to learn new ways to express my creativity. Freestyle allows students to express their ideas through a variety of media, whether it’s a short animation, a compelling video, or even a song. Mastering different mediums of communication is key no matter what profession you go into.

Although my time at Freestyle is over, the experience has truly been one of a kind. I went in not really knowing what to expect, especially because my Junior year was online. However, I enjoyed the various assignments across all of my classes, and I really appreciated that we were given more creative freedom than we do with regular classes back at school.

The community we built on campus during my Senior year was truly amazing, and I’m very glad I got the chance to collaborate and befriend so many talented young artists. Shoutout to the Class of ’22 Animation 2 PM students!!! I love all of you guys so much! ♡

I would recommend that Sophomores sign up for Freestyle, as the positives outweigh the negatives. You will definitely learn essential communication skills, and the knowledge you gain using professional applications like Photoshop and ProTools definitely gives you an advantage, especially because you’re only in high school.

Just a heads up, I deleted some of the assignments I was embarrassed about (lol) but the pages still exist! You just won’t be able to find them >:) Anyway, thanks for stopping by!
