You may not consider city trash cans a “modern convenience” but did you know that New York city did not have city trash cans until 2024? Were very lucky to have infrastructure like trash cans, street sweepers, gardeners and more provided by the government, to keep our cities clean.

These mushrooms represent Gluttony. They are so hungry, they feed and grow on all the dead things in the soil. This mushroom sprouted up, and grew to humungous size within a few days. After about a week, it had melted down into a pile of goo… returning to the soil without a trace.

30-Friends-and-Family

This is a photo I took of my brother in an airplane. I think it tells his story well because it emphasizes the red of his hoodie, which he wears every day. You can see he is on an I-Pad, his 2 favorite things to do are playing video games, and coding video games, so thats appropriate. I really like how the orange light is coming in from the window on his hair, its almost like his brain is shining through his skull.

28-My-Culture

Here you see my brother practicing the midwestern tradition of fourth of july fireworks. Where we celebrate our independence from Birtain, by reveling in our freedom to do many things. For example: setting things on fire, or wearing red white and blue. I wonder if there are any cultures that don’t have celebrations with fire as a key element?

25-Flowers

I loved this prompt, there are so many beautiful flowers in my backyard and around my neighborhood, and I love any excuse to just wander around and look at them. This is one of the roses in my backyard. I really like how these roses have like 2 colors. They are yellowish on the inside with a bit of pink on the edge of the petals.

19-Aging

This is a photo I took of a agave plant in my grandma’s backyard. It represents aging because you can see the older fronds drying up at the bottom, and the newer ones at the top.
