The Narrative unit in Design was all about making a product. We had two main projects, creating a product and design a logo and label, and create a movie poster for a movie that we made up.

Mood Boards

Creating a mood board is an essential step in creating any design project. A mood board consists of many images that are used as inspiration for the project, as well as a color scheme and an explanation of what the final product will look like.

Product

For my product project, I wanted to create a tropical lemonade company called Bahama Blue Lemonade. After making my mood board(shown above), I went on PlaceIt.com and went through hundreds of bottles until I found the one that would be perfect for my lemonade. After finding the right glass bottle, I hand drew three different templates for what my logo could look like.

One of my three logo sketches

After sketching three different possible logo designs, I went into Adobe Illustrator to start creating my final logo. But after not loving what I had created, I went back to the drawing board and chose a different design, one that largely featured a lemon and went off of that. I finally created a logo that I felt captured the essence of Bahama Blue Lemonade.

Final Logo

After creating my final logo for my product, I had to create the label that would go on the bottle itself. I added a background to the logo that resembled sun shining on the top of a tropical ocean in Illustrator. I also created a website for my lemonade and included how large the bottle would be.

Final Label

With my label being finalized, I brought it into PlaceIt.com to add it to the bottle that I picked out. I really enjoyed this project and am very happy with how my product turned out.

Movie Poster

The movie poster was one of my favorite project I ever did at Freestyle. To start, we had to create a concept for a movie. My movie would be about a celebrity that realizes that he was living his life wrong and needed to escape the world of fame, paparazzi, and an unfulfilling lifestyle. I titled my movie, Run From The Lights, with the lights representing his life of living in Hollywood and the problems with that life. After creating my mood board(shown above), I decided to use Photoshop to create my movie poster. I went out to take a photo of someone running down a road right before it got dark and then I would edit in a city in the background, seeming as if they were running away from that city. I am really proud of what I was able to create.
