The Humor project was a nice break towards the end of senior year. It allowed us to make as many mistakes (as we wanted), and it would all still add to the piece. We first read the books “Slaughterhouse 5” and “The Importance of being Earnest”, where we studied them for the different humor techniques present within both books. For my project, I got some friends together, and I know we had a huge amount of fun trying to produce something that would be funny, as was very apparent during the editing. Process
I created my project primarily in Adobe Premier Pro, which gave me more of a chance to further refine my editing skills, and show what I learned. While also trying to create my project in a more humorous amateur fashion, using clips where you could see the tripod in the reflection for example. Or, dressing up in half of a costume, as I did intentionally, wearing shorts with my button up shirt and tie.
Inspirations
My Inspirations included SNL, and Key and Peele, which are two different groups of comedians that perform different skits, and even do improv. They both produce works that eventually go onto You-tube, however SNL is well known for their live shows. I wanted to produce my own video skit of a piece in the fashion of an infomercial and they provided a variety of skits with similar themes.
