I find myself most filled with the joy of gratitude when I am reflecting on the things I am most thankful for at the end of each day. Within my gratitude journal, I make it a goal of mine to vividly describe all of the memories that have brought me joy during the day. Reflecting on those memories, as well as going back to reread old entries and the warm feelings of appreciation that they invoked, is one of my favorite things. In capturing this photo, I angled the photo of my gratitude journal on a dark background filled with empty space, to not only bring attention to my focus object but represent the feelings of emptiness and isolation that can come from not taking the time to be thankful and appreciative of the little things.
