For this prompt reflecting an inspirational figure, I captured a photo of my mother standing in front of an olive tree. My mother, like the tree, has always modeled wisdom and resilience for me throughout my life. She has been a huge inspiration for me throughout my creative journey, always having paved her own path, and never failing to have grace along the way. For this photo, I had her pose beside the olive tree to convey the qualities of hers that are metaphorically represented by this plant, including beauty and strength. She looks up at the tree, as I look up to her. Another reason I chose the olive tree was because my mom is very religious, and in the Bible olive trees are a symbol of prosperity and peace. I got creative with this photo in terms of angle and I am overall satisfied with its composition.
