For the rule of thirds emotion prompt, I decided to capture a picture of my brother doing what he loves most, basketball. My photo portrays the emotion happiness that comes from pursuing our hobbies and passions. The look of joy on his face is communicated through his smile, which is positioned near the middle of the photo. This provided adequate space for the basketball which is fully in the frame, and the scenery of various trees and plants in the back. To achieve the rule of thirds visual effect, I centered him slightly off to the left, as opposed to directly in the center, to give my photo more depth and make it less predictable to the viewer.
