Reflections

The reflections unit consisted of a wide variety of personal projects ranging from essays to digital painting. Through my Design, Digital Media, and English courses, I utilized my work to showcase who I am and what I cherish. I was able to incorporate my values and share unique stories about myself.

In English, I wrote a personal essay where I went into detail about my story and who I want to become as I continue to grow. Taking inspiration from my goals in that essay, I then wrote another essay, this time a literary one, about how I see the art of filmmaking.

In Design I took inspiration from my personal essay to create a public service announcement. I utilized various Adobe programs and put together a unique piece that represents what I strive to do. I also got to learn about Aboriginal art and make my own piece using common symbols found in their style. My Design class also had a macro photography project, where we got to create a scene using miniature items and showcase them to bring the viewer into the scene.

In Digital Media, I improved significantly on my technical skills and developed my knowledge of coding. My favorite part of Digital Media this semester was learning how to paint using Adobe Photoshop, something I had never done before. It was really fascinating to experiment with the wide variety of brushes.
