As I was walking down this trail with a dear family friend, this small patch of grass caught my eye. The light hit it in a way that made it glow. It stood out because everything around it was covered in shadows. After a few days of rain, the grass burned a bright green. When the sun hit it, it shined like a living, reflective gem. I took time to frame this photo right. I like this shot because the grass stands out as the main subject, but the pathway trailing off into the darkness adds depth and makes it more interesting. In the top left you have dark leaves contrasting with the bright grass, and in the darkness you can make out the outline of a wooden fence.
