Reflection Image

This is a reflection of the tree branches above me, in the horses’ water trough at Deer Hollow Farm. I focused the camera lens so that instead of focusing on the leaves, or the water, or the container, it was focusing on the reflection image. This is why the leaves and the sides of the basin are blurred. When I first saw the branches in the water, I found myself captivated by their swaying movements. I didn’t recognize what it was. I thought something was moving in the water, only to realize that it was just a reflection. Reflections are a matter of perspective. Through my eyes, I can only see how I see the trees. Through this reflection, I can see how the water sees the trees. Through an illusion of light, we can create images that seem impossible.
