Conceptual

This project emphasizes creative risk-taking through poetry,  music, art, animations, experimental film, and web production. This challenges the expression of thoughts and opinions through personal aesthetic. We begin developing technical communication skills by learning a variety of modern and professional equipment and application such as DSLR Cameras, Tascam Audio Recorders, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Animate, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, Avid Pro Tools, WordPress, and Google Apps.

Poetry

In the poetry section, we learn new ways of writing poetry; haiku, ekphrastic, free verse, etc. We demonstrate poetry in different forms such as audio, picture and video. Learning things such as sound repetition and more to enhance how is poetry is read and to connect more to the reader.

Beastly Brute

Using these applications I valued learning how to edit out sounds that are not pleasant to the ear. I also valued learning how to crop, edit, etc, in photoshop to enhance my picture quality.

Photo Haiku and Video

Blackout

In this project, we integrated English and Digital Media into one project. In English, we wrote a Haiku from a concept statement that was created with words we drew from a bag. In digital media, we audio-recorded out poems and used pictures to create a video of the Haiku. This was one of our first projected, I valued it a lot because I got to learn a lot from using audio recorders to editing and adding sound to videos in pro tools.

In premiere pro, I valued learning editing techniques and tricks and how to add in audio or even just add a picture.

Elements and Principles of Art

Elements and Principles of Art was an assignment helping us learn basic ways that artwork and how they are different through Eras are. Like modern art. We created examples through three eras to see the differences. This helps us to understand ways we can incorporate them in our own art.

Experimental Film

The Asphyxiation

This experimental project was out the first individual out of the class project. Experimental films are not supposed to make sense or have a plotline, which made it a little more difficult. It helped me figure out how to manage and schedule for film projects and we learned new editing skills in Premiere Pro, along with tricks to edit faster. The process started with filming, editing and getting feedback. Once we have gathered all the feedback we create our final product in premiere pro which is a video editing application.

I really valued the process of creating this film because I really got to learn how the equipment and applications work. I also got to learn the process of pitching our ideas to the other people in film and also getting critics on the project.
