For the Documentary Project, we had to develop a perspective on a person, group, place, idea, or issue. We gathered primary and secondary research sources, including interviews, articles or, in the case of honors folks, intellectual journals about our topic. The research-based paper from English serves as the base for the magazine article we developed for Digital Media. This unit emphasized narrative-style journalism.
For my project, I wanted to focus on housing. At the suggestion of the Freestyle English teacher, Mr. Greco, I focused on Tiny Houses, also known as granny flats or ADUs. I interviewed two different businesses that helped people build and purchase ADUs, as well as finding various news articles for secondary research and intellectual journals on JSTOR to meet the honors requirements. My focus in particular was on how ADUs affect the community.

A teaser for my Documentary!
