About this Podcast
The Oliver Camp Experience is a podcast hosted by Oliver Camp. He discusses anything from music to current events to life stories. The podcast came to life in early 2020 with an episode about the way autotune is perceived in the world.
Bio
Oliver Camp is currently a senior at Freestyle academy (class of 2021). He will most likely be attending Loyola Marymount University in the fall. Oliver likes listening to/making music and wants to combine his passion for music into other fields such as business. The podcast unit was very intriguing to him because he was able to connect his music production background with his background in English.
Podcast project
The goal of this project was to explore the powerful communication medium of podcasting. We could work with partners or go solo. Our teacher didn’t expect us to become masters at the podcast, but we were expected to jump in and explore while still striving for a professional project. The required length was between 3-12 minutes.
To make my project, I had to get inspiration. My first source of inspiration came from Joe Rogan. He makes an interview podcast that recently got endorsed by Spotify. Another source of inspiration were apple music radio shows where they have a mix between music and speaking.
Process section:
Reflection
In the end, I really enjoyed this project. I was able to combine my experience in Logic Pro X and music production with English and my opinions on a topic I was interested in. Podcasting may seem daunting at first, but just have fun with it and the result will be better than you think. At first a big challenge for me was how I was going to approach it, but i decided to approach it the same was I approach music production.
