The Zenith project is a passion project. A project that lets us explore, combine, and find our interests through one final project that reflects everything we’ve learned here at Freestyle. With this project, my goal was to produce a beat-tape + cd-cover that reflects my new design foundation and my interest in music.

Inspiration

When creating my zenith project, I was inspired by multiple artists, words, and places. Artists like The Weeknd and Playboi Carti inspired my album cover, while Kanye west inspired the music. Words like Nostalgia, distortion, and shadows inspired the theme I was going for, a dark and gritty feeling. The desert, the nighttime, and my closet also inspired my album cover. My music evolved heavily over the course of the stay-at-home order, and I wanted to reflect that in my Zenith.

Process

As you click through the gallery, you’ll find that my process was all digital. I started out by making the four instrumentals. As I made all four, I spent most of my time on the beat called “Gone Camping” and it remains my favorite to this day. After making the instrumentals, I moved on to creating an album cover. This is where my design skills came in handy.
