About Me

a photo of me

Welcome to my website! My name is Olivia Ahrens and I am a student at Freestyle Academy. I am so lucky to be a part of such an amazing program and I am proud to share my hard work with you.  Once I learned that I would attend Mountain View High School, I knew that I would want to join Freestyle, especially after hearing glowing reviews from family friends who had graduated from the program.

My elementary school had exceptional art and technology classes, which made coming to Freestyle feel like second nature. I decided to chose Design as my elective because I have always had a passion for fashion design and interior design and I wanted to advance my skills and see if the field would be a good fit for me as a career choice.

Outside of school, you could catch me hanging out with my friends, cheering at football games, and volunteering for El Camino Hospital and National Charity League. Some things to know about me are that I love young children and have been a Red Cross Certified babysitter for about eight years. I  have also been a member of the MVHS swim team for the past three years. My freshman year, I was a captain of the JV cheer team, my sophomore year, I was on varsity, and in both years, I was on the school’s competitive cheer team that went to nationals in Los Angeles and got 1st place both years in a row. I loved cheer and it was a huge part of my life, but after hard consideration, I decided to stop my junior year so I could focus more on school, volunteering, and preparing for college.

Living in the heart of Silicon Valley, technology is everywhere and essential to learn how to use. However, some of us SV kids don’t see ourselves pursuing a STEM profession. Freestyle allows students who have more artistic or creative minds to be able to thrive and showcase their talents and passions. We learn how to use technology and apply it to our ideas, to create a final product. The freedom to push past the standards and expectations around us is what makes Freestyle Academy magical.

I can’t wait to see what the future holds and I look forward to apply what I have learned at Freestyle to the rest of my life!
