Welcome to my WebGems page! A WebGem is a website that is not as popular or viewed as "Facebook" or "Instagram". Their purpose is to hone in on personal interests. Here I will show you some WebGems that are cool!
12/21/12-Vimeo
Vimeo is a WebGem for those who love cinematography. Indie filmmakers post videos to share with other fillmakers. All videos have a unique sense of lighting, music, and style. Vimeo allows you to post videos for exposure. You can comment on the different videos you like and share your opinions. Some are music videos, some are of nature, and some even have animations. Vimeo is a really good site to watch short films and get inspired. I especially like checking out the nature videos because the different lightings are filiming techniques have interesting perspectives. Check out Vimeo, you'll be pleasantly surprised!
12/14/12-Prefixmag
PreFix is one of my favorite WebGems of all time. It provides an easy way for one to find information on their favorite bands and or musicians. You can locate where they last performed, upcoming performances, videos and pictures of them playing live. On their website they have one category called features which gives a brief synopsis of new music and artists. It's a great way to discover new music and or follow your favorites. Even if you don't care about music, you can check out their photo gallery which has awesome photos of performers.
12/06/12-Wanelo
Wanelo is a WebGem for those who love to online shop. The great thing about joining Wanelo is that you can refine your research, and look up certain items you want and it will find exactly what you’re looking for. Not only will it find what you want, but it will provide multiple ways to get the product, and who else has or is looking for the same thing. It even provides a shopping cart and or wishlist so you can stock up on all the things you want. Wanelo is used by both men and woman. Not only do they carry clothing articles, but household objects, and random kiosks. Probably the coolest part of Wanelo is that you can follow friends or users that have similar taste as you do. You can see what those users like and or want. If Wanelo sounds like something you’d be interested in, check it out!
11/30/12-Ride-Lana Del Ray
This WebGem is a poem and song combined by writer and singer Lana Del Ray. She’s one of my favorite singers, and has inspired many artists. Her song and poem flow together nicely and tell a deep story about her coming to be who she is. Not to mention the cinematography is beautiful and uses great depths of field. Check out this video to hear and see great things.

If you're looking for a website that has artsy photographs, WeHeartIt is the perfect WebGem for you! Whether you want a specific type of photograph or not there are over a thousand pages to choose from. You can click on different tags and view the photographs from those categories or you can view a variety of photos all at once. The photographs range from funny to serious to old and new. WeHeartIt is aWebGem that you can spend hours on. Check it out in your spare time!
11/16/20-Dribble
Dribble is a WebGem designed for designers. On this site, designers are able to show and tell their latest projects, or pieces of art that they are working on. As a viewer you can either look at work from the most popular designers or everyone who has published works. There are hundreds of pages to look through to get inspired from. Another interesting thing about Dribble is the list of jobs it puts up on its site. Not only is Dribble a great way for designers to expose their work, but also an area to find work. Check out Dribble, you won't regret it!
110/26/12-Etsy
One of the funniest WebGems I know is Awkwardfamilyphotos. It consists of weird professional family photographs. They are so weird because of their outfits, and postions. Mostly all of the photographs are old. My family and I enjoy viewing this WebGem because it makes us laugh. All the photographs have a brief caption that describe whose in the photograph and where it takes place. This WebGem will help to make your family look more sane! Check it out!
10/26/12-Etsy
Etsy is another one of my favorite WebGems. It's an online shopping site, that is similar to Ebay but consits mostly of vintage and handmade items. It's a great way to showcase art, or sell things you no longer want. Etsy is a perfect way to get ideas to be creative, or look at styles of fashion. One helpful thing about Etsy is that you can browse for specific items you are looking for. If you've never heard of Etsy, you should see for yourself!
10/22/12-Pinterest
Pinterest is a perfect example of a WebGem! It's a way for viewers to share recipes, photographs, DIY projects, and more. If you sign up for this website, you can "like" or "repin" what others put out there to share it with the rest of the world. Pinterest is versitle, and both men and woman use it. I really enjoy going on pinterest to get ideas for projects, or thigns I want to bake. In a sense pinteret in an online bulletin borad, that is shared amongst many people. Check it out!
