For this prompt, we experimented with the white balance function. I was in New England for the peak of the colorful fall leaves, but while photographing them I was always dissatisfied with the way that the colors turned out on the camera, sort of muted and dull. I was playing with the white balance to see if it would better bring out the yellows of the leaves in this scene. The colors in this photo are still not fully representative of the beautiful colors. The manual white balance alters the colors of the leaves and creates an interesting mood in the photo. I like how this photo turned out overall. I didn’t edit it other than cropping it to rule of thirds, to preserve the effect of the white balance. I like the effect of the light going from light in one corner to darker in the other, the interesting shadows and lines of the tree branches, and the way that the path leads your eyes around the corner.
