I wanted to be more creative and think outside of the box for this assignment. I kept my mind open and walked around our old freestyle campus. Walking around I noticed the bike rack towards the entranced that I had never stopped to notice before. I then thought it would be interesting to try and use the bike to frame a subject. In the end I thought that using the bikes was a super fun and creative idea.

For using props, I wanted to use something that remind me of freestyle. I decided to use the pingpong table. For as long as I’ve been at freestyle the pingpong table was an area to connect with friends, play games, and relax. I wanted to get an action shot with the pingpong ball to give the photo movement.

For this photo, I took inspiration from my 7th-grade photography class. In that class, we played with the illusion of depth of field and how we can make a regularly sized object look tiny. For this photo, I worked with my friend Mahaut to make it look like she was standing on top of a tissue box. I then thought it would be funny to edit a hand reaching to grab her to insinuate her being a tissue. Overall I had a lot of fun taking this photo and editing it.

While I was at a viewpoint looking at a harbor, I looked down and saw this small opening in the trees that perfectly showcases people going about their day. I liked the perspective of people going about their lives and doing their own thing and just observing it from far away. I also loved how small they looked compared to their surrounding which made me aware of just how large the world is outside of me,

Over a weekend, my friends and I went up to my friend’s apartment in San Francisco. I love how different all of the architecture is in the city. My friend’s apartment though was breathtaking. I have always been a big fan of bay windows so when I saw this bay window in the morning light it was beautiful. I love the odd number of windows and how when you get close enough it seems as though you are surrounded by the windows.

For this prompt I wanted to take emotion more literal. I put on makeup and created it to look as though I was crying. I also used the rule of thirds by intentionally off centering my eye. This photo was inspired by a piece of art that also inspired my illustrative design hoodie. The art piece was the Fallen Angel by Alexandre Cabanel.

For this photo, I wanted to take a picture with one of my mothers old bridesmaid dress. To do this I took a self portrait through a window in my bedroom. I wanted to give the photo an old/vintage feel to it. While editing, I lowered the exposure and added offset to help portray the vintage feeling. I also cut and selected myself and changed the opacity to make me look like a ghost.

This photo demonstrates a lot of geometry in architecture. This house was designed by Joseph Eichler. His architecture style was considered as “California Modern.” He added a lot of glass walls and open floor plans. All of these geometric shapes help give this house a more modern look. The the windows and the walls draw your eye to the center of the photo, the door.

During this past spring break, my mother and I did a roadtrip from Los Altos to Forks Washington. We did site seeing and college tours. This picture is of our breakfast before we left for our trip. The photo has many aspect of leading lines. The pancakes, the blueberries and the sausage lead our eye up and down the photo.

The rule of odds is a beautiful thing. Although the rule of symmetry brings a feeling of balance, an odd number of subjects, or asymmetry gives a fun and joyfull spin to a photo. I wanted to take a picture of 3 beautiful fake flowers with a colorful background. I wanted the viewer to get a joyfull and calm feeling while looking at the photo.
