10 Things I've Learned So Far

In English, our assignment was to compose a list of ten things that we had learned so far in our lives, lessons that have really impacted who we are as people. I included ten things that I think had really changed my life and my perspective of the world. In Web/Audio, we enhanced the assignment by creating a podcast with our voices narrating our ten lessons, and assigning an image to each of ten things, and added intro and outtro music that went along with our assignment.

  1. Make the moment wherever you're at.
  2. Find passion in whatever you're doing.
  3. Don't be afraid of others. Who are they to judge?
  4. I just have to make myself happy.
  5. It's okay to be wrong.
  6. The less you care, the happier you'll be.
  7. Be genuinely interested in other people. Show compassion.
  8. Live in the moment.
  9. Always ask the question: how can I help you?
  10. Be yourself, be real.

To create our podcasts, we used GarageBand both to record ourselves reading the lessons and to compose music to insert both at the beginning and end of the piece. This was one of my first projects using GarageBand, and I found that it was an extremely enjoyable experience! I loved combining loops and pre-recorded tracks to create my own unique song, and look forward to making more music in the future.

English Media Piece

In English, we were assigned to take one of our lessons, the same one we used for our personal poem, and photograph an image that included the lesson itself. This image was supposed to reflect the effects of this lesson on ourselves. My lesson was "live in the moment", interpreted in the sense of looking around myself every once in a while and taking everything in, and then using what I see to grow as a person. This answered the question "who am I" because by living in the moment and soaking everything in, I'm changing who I am and who I'll become.
