November 14, 2013 - We all need some inspiration every now and then to keep us going - Upworthy gives us exactly what we need, providing videos and articles on events around the world that can inspire, educate, entertain, and touch people. Anyone can find something on the site that peaks his/her interest, and it’s unexpectedly easy to spend hours on end watching Upworthy videos and reading posts. This simply brilliant website makes it easy to share stories with friends, and shows us what we really care about, things that are upworthy. I highly recommend bookmarking Upworthy and visiting whenever you need some motivation, strength, or excitement.
November 7, 2013 - High school is an extremely fast-paced and stressful environment, and we need to take some time for ourselves to relax and regain sanity. The Quiet Place Project is a perfect place to do this - for just a couple minutes, we power off our phones and escape from social media and the stresses of daily life. Though the idea itself is incredibly simple, the experience yields amazing results. I strongly suggest all high school students (and adults!) check this website out!
October 30, 2013 - This week’s Web Gem is “The Nicest Place on the Internet” because of the beauty of the concept. If you’re ever feeling down, visit this website for an endless stream of hugs from strangers (on video, from the computer of course). I just think that the idea is so perfectly simple yet so brilliant, and it will without a doubt put a smile on your face.
October 23, 2013 - Polyvore, one of my favorite websites, is this week's Web Gem because of its unlimited creative possibilities and innovative concept. The website serves two main functions; it's both a fashion search engine and a collage-maker. Users can not only find specific products they want, but use these products in unique collages as well! Making "sets" (or collages) is my favorite aspect of the site, because of the simplicity and ease of the process and the ability to share it with other members of the Polyvore community.
