  • Exit

The assignment was to represent the idea that every exit is an entrance to somewhere else. I chose to use a door because it is a simple but powerful symbol of transition and change. Every time someone walks through a door, they leave one space behind and enter a new one. Whether it is moving from one room to another, starting a new chapter in life, or taking a step into the unknown, a door represents both an ending and a beginning at the same time.

In my piece, I used light shining through the doorway to symbolize hope, opportunity, and new beginnings. The light suggests that something positive exists beyond the door, even if the viewer cannot fully see what is on the other side. This creates a sense of curiosity and possibility. I wanted the image to communicate that while leaving something familiar can sometimes feel uncertain or difficult, it can also lead to growth, new experiences, and exciting opportunities. The doorway becomes a visual reminder that every ending creates the chance for a new beginning.

  • Stranger

The assignment was to tell the story of a stranger through a photograph. A single fish drifts slowly through the aquarium, its movements calm but aimless as it circles the glass walls. The water is clear, yet empty. Light filters down from above, reflecting off its scales and casting faint ripples along the tank, but the space still feels confined and quiet. Every turn brings it back to the same corners, the same boundaries, as if there is nowhere else to go. In the stillness of the tank, the fish seems alone in its own small world, surrounded by space yet separated from anything beyond it.

  • Aging

The assigment was to take a photo to represent aging in a single photograph. For me childhood, was about food, Wingstop was a place I loved to go as a kid. The shining of the word “Wing” represents the beauty of once was. While, the stop represents the current state of my life, aged, older, and dark. Also, the fading sunset represents the fact that we all are aging slowly, waiting for darkness.

The shadows of the tree captured in this image, leaning over the walkway represent the feeling of someone watching over you or controlling you. The tall trees, with the sort of fake persona of the shadow represents the feeling of academic pressure from family before you. This image was also taken at school, wich helps specify the academic pressure in particular.

  • New Beginnings

The quiet, empty garage at night represents an ending—something has been left behind, and the stillness reflects that pause. Within this darkness, the single light turning on breaks the cycle, symbolizing the shift where one phase ends and another begins. The light itself becomes the clearest sign of a new beginning, suggesting hope, renewal, and the idea that even in forgotten or silent spaces, something new can start again.
