For our weekly photo blog, one of the weekly challenges was to take photos that implement compositional techniques.
This week, we were assigned to take a photo that uses the rule of thirds to show emotion. I didn’t really know what to do for that, so I just took a photo of my parents watching TV together cozily.
This week, we were assigned to use the composition technique of filling the frame with one color to draw attention to the subject of the photo. I filled my frame with lavender.
This week, we were challenged to take a photo of somebody and manipulate it in Photoshop to make it symmetrical. Here I present: “Wide Brother.”
This week, we had to take a photo that incorporates some sort of geometry. This was the most geometric thing in my room, and I didn’t want to leave the house. It’s got a friendly little hexagon, which is very geometrical.
This week, we were challenged to take a photo that used leading lines with food. I will admit that this is an old photo, since it is from Chinese New Year (January 25th). In an attempt to create leading lines, I pushed the chopsticks to point towards the radish cakes, […]

This week, we were challenged to take a landscape photo that used negative space. This is my rendition of that prompt. The negative space is the sky, and it is interrupted by the small lamp and the cityscape.
This week, we were challenged to take a portrait that exhibits loneliness by placing the subject in the center of the frame. This is a photo that I took a while ago, of my friend. We were at the Bedwell Bayfront park, and there, they had some salt ponds, pictured […]
This week, we were challenged to take a photo that used balance. When I took the photo, I didn’t realize that it was so blurry, but I think it adds to the aesthetic. There is balance between the small notebook with lots of text and the big paper with just […]
This week, we were challenged to take a photo that uses leading lines to imply infinity. I have infinite blankets, and infinite warmth.
