Exit

For this assignment, I choose to represent “the exit” of my junior year through the gate at the Florence Baptistry. These panels are significant for me because my Nonnie (grandmother) was baptized in the Florence Baptistry and I was able to see them on a recent trip to Italy.

The Florence Baptistry doors, known as the “Gates of Paradise,” are a renowned masterpiece of Renaissance art. Created by sculptor Lorenzo Ghiberti, they feature intricate bronze panels depicting scenes from the Old Testament and showcase the skillful use of perspective and naturalistic details that captivate viewers to this day.
