An assortment of different traditional Oaxacan dishes
F/13 ~ ISO-6400 ~ Exposure time-1/60 sec. ~ Focal Length of 25mm

Even though this photo doesn’t show my exact culture roots for the Mexican side of my family, I think it does a good enough job at showing that half of my culture. Whenever I go to visit family in Mexico, one of the biggest parts of the trip that I usually love is the food. I feel like a big part of Mexican culture is the food.

A photo of Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans, Louisiana
F/13 ~ ISO-1600 ~ Exposure time-1/320 sec. ~ Focal Length of 24mm

Usually for photoblogs, Ill only put one image. However for this one, I felt like I needed to put two. Coming from two different cultures, I feel like I should show both of them here. While this isn’t the best photo to display the other half of my culture, I feel like it’ll do the job. The place that is in this photo is a place I associate with the other culture I come from. The southern US culture that I have ties to I feel has a lot of connections to food(similarly to the Mexican culture that I also have ties to). I haven’t really gotten a good picture of any signature dishes from Louisiana, but I did get this photo of Cafe Du Monde. When I think of the south where part of my family is, I think of beignets and iced coffee. I also think of the sea food that usually gets eaten at the gatherings we have.
