Aging

This week, to show aging, I took photos of my old shoes. I got these shoes from my best friend, and they look aged at the time but I’ve had them for many months and you can clearly see the aging on them now. I wore these shoes a lot last year, and I even wore them at film camp in LA and a road trip I went on over the summer. Since then I’ve gotten new shoes and I don’t wear them anymore, but I took this photo to commemorate them.

I added a screen layer at 40% to make it a bit brighter, but I kept it dark because I thought it looked more dramatic and sad, and it gives the shoes more of a story. I tried to highlight the aging details like the dirt, faded design, and bent soles. I photographed it over a white background to contrast with the dirt.
