Self Portrait

The goal of the photo is to give the viewer a sense of myself without showing my face, so I took a photo of my record player. I got the record player for my birthday and after that I have gone to record stores to buy vinyl records. This represents me because music is a big part of my life. Usually when someone has a hobby, they think of how they can make money off of it and it turns into a job. Music is a hobby that I can enjoy without thinking about working.

Instead of showing my face, I took a picture of what I’m looking at when I’m listening to music. I had to think about lighting and how it was going to be in focus. I chose a shallow depth of focus so only the middle would be in focus. This represents how the rest of the world fades away when you listen to music.
