This is a parasol that was gifted to me by my grandmother. You can’t see it in the photo, but it has my name Amara written beautifully on it. Ever since I was little I have memories of having parasols with my name on it,

Exit

Exit

This year’s journey at Freestyle has been packed with so much, it’s hard to summarize the experience. While I am still able to look forward to my next year here, there is still something to grieve. While it is nice and sometimes beneficial to look

Reflection

I’ve been taking a lot of walks and rides on my skateboard during quarantine to stay healthy and keep myself sane. Serenity

I don’t think that many words are needed because this photo says so much in and of itself. However this week we were challenged to photograph serenity. Serenity is a state of peace, which in such a hectic world is hard to find. The man

This week we practiced working with our speed lights to alter the lighting. I chose to do so with a portrait of my close friend at a park. I was constantly changing the angle of the speed light to see what lighting was most flattering and appropriate.

Negative Space

Negative Space

This week we were challenged to take a picture showcasing negative space. As created by the shadow, there is a lot of negative space that leads your eye to the subject of the photo, which is the sunset.
