Reflections Project Introduction
The Reflections unit at Freestyle Academy centers around the following question:
Who am I?
We’re tasked to explore who we are and what our core values are through a variety of projects; personal writing, visual art and images, video productions, mandalas, short animations, this website…
Out of all these projects, I feel I was able to analyze myself and my core values best through our Why I Write essay in English class. Values of personal growth / improvement are the core of that essay, with the product really highlighting the ways I’ve changed over the years. However, many of the projects this unit had the opportunity to become something very personal, and all encouraged self reflection and the creation of something representing ourselves. My colored mandala, which isn’t directly about myself, is still something highly personalized as it focuses on a fictional story of mine.
