For this project in English we were tasked with create a world hence the name “World-Building.” Initially we did a lot of brainstorming for our narrative surrounding our reading of numerous books in English class. Then we wrote the first act and second act and formed slides to pitch our story idea to to the audience in a slide deck
This draft of our world building narrative later gets turned into a presentation that we pitched to the class, hoping to get our book approved. We definitely changed a bunch of different parts throughout the project, but I think in the end, we had a good concentrated idea of what we wanted.
A second part of our World-building unit is the research paper we were tasked with writing surrounding a problem we face as a society. I chose school shootings inspired by Warriors Head Coach Steve Kurr who spoke out about this problem. It really resonated with me which led me into diving into the research of the root and possible solutions to this problem.
Additionally in Digital Media, we were tasked to create a picture using photoshop tools to illustrate the problem. I decided to illustrate the emotional trauma that kids go through after events like these. I hope to make an impact and form some sort of change in the community that helps prevent and prepare for school shootings.
