Dark Moon

a dark moon with a face

This week’s challenge was to take a photo of an object in black and white. I have a moon sculpture in my room that I found in Mexico. It is a teal blue, which is darker than the lighter blue paint color on my bedroom walls. With the black and white settings, I find this image to look ominous. In the natural world, the moon is never darker than the sky itself. With the unnatural darkness of the moon and the painted face, the photo makes the observer feel uncomfortable.
